At Midas Gold, we believe in investing in the future of our communities. And what better way to do that than by helping students pursue their education. For the last five years, we’ve been providing scholarships to deserving high school seniors. Applications are once again open. Do you know someone who should apply?
We want to award a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from each of the high schools in our region. Those schools are McCall-Donnelly High School, Cascade High School, Meadows Valley Junior/Senior High School, Heartland High School, Council High School, Riggins High School and Lapwai High School.
Any student graduating from the listed high schools may apply for the scholarship. To apply, students must submit a letter that includes the following information:
- The importance of this scholarship to your personal financial circumstances and your educational goals;
- Your current community involvement and accomplishments;
- Future vocational and career goals;
- Demonstration of your leadership, service and character qualities;
- Awards or recognitions you’ve received during high school;
- Minimum unweighted cumulative GPA of at least 2.7;
- Your interests and hobbies.
In addition to your own letter, interested students must also include two letters of recommendation with their applications. One letter must be from a teacher and the other needs to be from an employer (past or present) or community member.

The scholarship money must be applied to tuition at a college, university or technical school. Scholarships must be used within one year of being awarded.
