Have you ever wondering what the historical Stibnite Mining District looks like today? Now is the perfect opportunity to join us on a tour, learn about the region’s rich history and see the site for yourself. We have several 2019 summer tour dates available on a first come, first serve basis.

Guests on our tours will see the remains of the former Stibnite town site, the Yellow Pine Pit, the former Meadow Creek Mine and mill site and see the legacy past mining operations left behind. The site was mined off and on for more than a century. During World War II, it was critical to the war effort. Men were even allowed to come to Stibnite to complete their war service to help mine for tungsten and antimony. During this time, more than 750 people lived and worked in Stibnite year-round. The town even had its own school, hospital and recreation center. After World War II ended, mining at the district slowed significantly and activity at the site stopped completely in 1997.

If you would like to learn more about the summer tour dates available and to reserve your spot, email [email protected]. On tours, we typically leave our office in Donnelly at 8 a.m. and return to the office by 5 p.m. We will take care of all of the driving, so participants can sit back and relax on the tour. We also provide snacks, drinks and lunch.

Although the tour is a full-day commitment, participants have told us the day was informative and worth their time. They got their questions answered about the Stibnite Gold Project and said they left with a greater understanding of our plan and the challenges the region faces. If you want to learn more about our project, this is the best way to do it.

Midas Gold started exploring the site about ten years ago. We believe we can restore the site through modern mining and fix the environmental legacies left behind while producing gold, silver and antimony at the site. We are currently working with the U.S. Forest Service to obtain the numerous permits required to redevelop and restore the site.

We hope you will join us this summer!
