As part of resource modeling efforts, Midas Gold geologists have built a 3D model of historic underground workings in the Stibnite-Yellow Pine Mining District. The image below is the former Meadow Creek Mine. From 1932 to 1938, this underground mine produced 50,000 ounces of gold, 185,000 ounces of silver and many tons of antimony.
Underground mining at Meadow Creek ended when mining became less profitable and the Yellow Pine deposit was excavated as an open pit operation.
The underground workings extend more than 500 feet below the ground surface. Significant resources remain at this location in the form of the Hanger Flats deposit.
